    Dog Handler

    We are seeking a team of compassionate, loving and energetic dog handlers for ALL SHIFTS with FULL-TIME, PART-TIME and weekend hours.

     

    Candidates must love dogs, be reliable, honest,

    and enjoy a fast-paced, active workplace. Your main fields to focus would be spending quality time with the dogs and keeping the facility clean.

     

    Your day would include a lot of time with our furry members and guests such as check-in/out dog for the daycare/boarding, feeding them, playing and monitoring their behaviors to ensure positive and safe dog interactions, taking them for a walk, cleaning the facility, cleaning indoor dog playground and dogs’ rooms, help other team members with assistance when needed.

      
    Responsibilities and Duties

    •  Maintain an upbeat, positive, and sanitary facility for the safety and well being of dogs under our care.
    • Supervise indoor activities of dogs with utmost vigilance, humane treatment, and care. 
    • Communicate actively and work well as a team with fellow staff members.
    • Maintain sanitary conditions of the facility.

    Qualifications and Skills

     

    Must love animals and deeply respect all sentient beings. As an advocate for animals, you must be compassionate and honest. Punctual, reliable, and a team player.

    Preferred Experience


    Previous experience in any animal care field such as working in a dog boarding/daycare facility, shelter, animal hospital, or similar

    field - 3 years (Preferred). We are going to provide the training.

    • Knowledge of dog breeds, basic commands, positive reinforcement dog training philosophy, and techniques is a plus
    • Experience with customer service and comfortability handling receptionist tasks is a plus

    Education

    • High school or equivalent (Required)

    Retail Sales Associate

    As a Full-time Retail Sales Associate, you’re helping pet

    parents find the best solutions for their pets. Retail Sales Associates must ensure that our store operates efficiently.

     

    With your love for dogs and our education, you’ll become a trusted partner to our customers at every stage of their pets’ lives. As we grow and expand, we will provide training opportunities to prepare our retail associate to be
    promoted into a Store Manager role.

      
    Responsibilities and Duties

     

    As an Urban Paws sales associate, your main areas of focus are:

    • Customer Service

    You’ll be an essential part of creating sincere connections with pet parents. You’ll welcome them (and their pets!) to the store, facilitate an easy check out process as a cashier and ensure that they found everything they needed.

    • Merchandising and  Inventory

    You’ll play an integral role in helping our pet parents find exactly what they need, right when they need it. You’ll execute on merchandising, stocking, and pricing strategies.

    By joining our team, you will
    1. Gain experience in a different business unit—from the store to the dog day camp or the hotel
    2. Develop your leadership skills as a Department or Assistant Manager role
    3. Tackle the challenge of a new store opening

     

    Requirements:

     

    • Passion for customer service
    • Care for the well-being of pets
    • At least 2-3 years of previous retail sales experience
    • Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and
    weekend shifts
    • Time management and organizational skills.
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills.

    Groomer

    With your skills and expertise, you’ll advise pet parents on the best services for their pets and perform grooming services that exceed their expectations. And, as an added bonus, you’ll be able to share in the joy that comes with picking up a freshly coiffed pet! It’s impossible not to smile and take pride in the work that you do for your clients!

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    Responsible to deliver customer service and grooming services to customers that align with our brand promise.

    The incumbent must be able to consistently perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

    • Provide quick and courteous service to all customers

    • Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests

    • Professionally perform basic grooming services on animals as requested by customers and in accordance with company policy and procedure, ensuring the safety and well-being of each animal • Interest in animal welfare

    • Move animals and merchandise up to 30 pounds

    • Utilize grooming instruments including shears and dryers.

    • Perform grooming services per customer instructions, ensuring the safety and well-being of animals.

    • Adhere to all Policies and Procedures.

     

    Work Environment:

    The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time.

     

    A large amount of this partner’s time will be spent in direct contact with our customers and their dogs. The work environment can be noisy and wet.

     

    Education/Experience:

    A qualified applicant to this position will demonstrate knowledge and skills in the grooming industry.

     

    In addition, the applicant must have completed the Pet Stylists Apprentice Program or a minimum of one year's experience grooming/styling pets under the leadership of a professional groomer and must successfully complete a personal skills evaluation by Urban Paw's Grooming Salon Manager.
